Notched squeegees are used to apply heavy coatings such as epoxy, especially 100% solids epoxy. Normal tools such as rollers and gravity are not optimal for applying thick coatings. Some installers prefer straight squeegees, but the notched squeeges boost the squeegees ability to grab the coating and wrangle it in the shape it needs to take. Very often, it is helpful to use a notched squeegee in the early stages and switch to a straight squeegee for the final stage. The coating will settle into place and heal the lines created by the notches (similar to the way coatings erase punctures from spiked shoes.)
Having the right tool for the job will greatly increase your ease of installation and efficiency, which is crucially important for coatings wiht a short pot-life. We recommend notched squeegees for heavier floor coatings like 100% solids and straight squeegees for mid-range coatings. If you aren't sure, go with notched.

This notched squeegee is best for thick coatings that cover a relatively small area, or for multiple users covering a medium area. This notched squeegee is easier to use than our other squeegees while still being able to handle the thickest coatings. The handle is sold separately.
The serrated teeth are 3/16" and allow material to flow through, which makes for easier leveling capabilities.

The notches allow for the epoxy to flow through, making it easier to level. It can 'grab' the epoxy better than a straight squeegee can. For strong and experienced users, this can make even large jobs smooth and seamless within the pot life of the epoxy. The wide area and extra-long length can wrestle more epoxy into place faster than ever before. The notches help to 'grab' the epoxy for faster installation. Built for durability our heavy-duty crackfiller is manufactured with a safety orange painted steel frame and with 5/16" x 2" long lasting neoprene rubber blade. This crackfiller can be used with hot or cold applications. The 9-1/2" deep U-shaped cavity holds plenty of material. Rubber refill blades are available. Hot-belted material is available.
